First name:
Charlie Freij

Born in rural Illinois to Palestinian parents, I knew early on I was always going to be different. I was a football playing, musical theatre performing, skater kid who got straight A's. Though slacker in appearence, I was and still am hyperactive. In high school i was the kid with long hair reading his own book at the back of the class, and getting detention for acting stupid during lunch. A lifelong lover of literature from all cultures, I enjoy reading my way across the world(Check out Icelandic novelist Hallador Laxness if you ever get a chance), Also, movies have played a huge role in my life. Living amid cornfields does not provide a great deal of intellectual stimulation, so it was through  movies that my family connected to the world my parents left behind. Obsessions with movies and literature took me to Sarah Lawrence College and I have lived in New York ever since. Between the theatre and used bookstores I have settled into what I feel is a great life with my wife and two dogs, Athos and Dakota.
