According to this article, alcohol consumption can be seen as beneficial for those with heart disease.  However, this is only in the short term.  For example, "long-term excessive alcohol drinking is considered to be a major cause for worsening of heart disease."  It seems like this falls in line with the mindset of a lot of people that do drugs - "it's fun for me now, so who cares?"  I think this shows a major sign of ignorance.
