I enjoyed reading Tsui's article, "The Western SoMa Area of San Francisco Is Resurgent," from the New York Times website (http://travel.nytimes.com/2012/03/18/travel/the-western-soma-area-of-san...) because it was about a neighborhood in San Francisco that went from a crime-ridden and scary place to a trendy area that is getting bigger with their new coffee shops, restaurants, art galleries and nice environment.

The quote I chose here is basically saying how student dont't see a reason to do summer homework, but it helps you.

I think this is interesting because I think it's actually true, I personally don't think that reading a sign or something is going to help you with your reading.

So far I have been eating salad nearly everyday of the week. This New Years Resolution was inspired by my good friend Nick Anastasio. He came up with that and I figured why not. We could both do it and had a competition about it. It would be fun to try and do it longer because it gives me more motivation to do it. right now it's March 21, 2012 and I am still going strong and I eat salad abou 6 days a week although this week my grandma is in Dallas so I am going to have to make my own salad. It will be an interesting challenge, making my own salad.

I just read an article "Introducing the Romney Magic Numbers Calculator" which was written on March 22nd, 2012. This article was about Mitt Romney, and how he has pulled away from the rest of the candidates in terms of votes. Mitt Romney is the clear nomination for the Republican candidate, and reaching the 1,144 delegates is not far away. Looking at the polls and graphs that were provided with the article, I saw staggering numbers. In the race for the state of Illinois, Mitt Romney had 429,533 votes, which was about 46.7% of all the votes.

Im learning about the Israeli and Palestinian Conflict. I can relate to this because I have many relatives in Israel so I visit there a lot and I deal with these problems when I go there. It is an importnat topic to me and my family and I enjoyed researching it. We are currently thinking of topics for a Personal Project. The Personal Project is a project that is important to us and a question that we want to answer. My question for this project is How will the Israeli and Palestinian Conflict be resolved?

In my psychology class we are watching the movie babies. This movie is really cool because you get to watch the lives of babies from all over the world. I really enjoy learning about different cultures and the lives of people that are from really abstract places so this movie was right up my alley. There is a baby from San Francisco, Tokyo, Mongolia, and Namibia. In this film you get to see how these babies live such different lives. The families from Namibia and Mongolia are so much different from the other two, just in the ways they let their kids seem to roam free a lot.

Often times when we see an advertisement for a new food tiem come on the television we want to go out and buy one of these food items. This is done intentioally by advertisers because they are appealing to the "drive motivation" in consumers. This is the motivation that occurs because the thing itself has created some will in us to own it. Fast Food restaurants exploit this the most and it workds for them. During the time the food item is shown, many more customers buy it when compared to the rest of the menu items provided.

Unfortunately in all the business of senior year I have forsaken a pastime that I love very much; reading. This year I have been so focused on studying various scientific and psychological cases, economic reports, and detailed reviews of painting techniques, that I haven't had enough time to just sit down and read a book that I honestly want to.

Every student and user of social media has been warned "beware of what you post"., and most people are. The long standing idea is that nothing is truly private and employers, teachers, and even admissions officers can all access those things that are posted on social networking sites. The problem for these people was that applicants of all types learned these tricks, and privacy filters became much more popular.

Sandra Fluke, a Georgetown Law student, was recently called a “slut”, and other disrespectful words of profanity, for speaking out as a birth control activist. Rush Limbaugh outrageously attacked this young woman for being for birth control. Saying that she is a “slut” for using the pill. If he thinks Sandra Fluke is a “slut”, simply because she uses the birth control pill, I wonder what he thinks of the younger generation; the girls that try to protect themselves from unplanned pregnancies and so on.

As of today, there is officially 37 days of school left for us seniors. For some, this may be a time of celebration, and for others, it may be time of sadness and regret for not taking opportunities while in high school. But, there is one thing we all have in common, many memories. This year, along with the previous three years, has been a very fun, and sometimes callenging for all of us. It has all come and gone so fast, like the seasons of the year. We all hate to see it go, but we're all very excited to see what the future has in store for us.

One hundred years after the sinking of the Titanic, technology is allowing us to get up close and personal with the wreckage that lives at the bottom of the ocean. On April 15, 1912 at 2:20am, the "unsinkable" Titanic sank beneath the ocean. 1500 lives were lost that day. The wreck was first discovered in 1985 by explorers Robert Ballard and Jean-Louis Michel. Since then, pictures have frequently been taken of the famous Titanic. However, robots were recently sent down to capture the most vivid and descriptive snapshots yet.

With The Hunger Games film around the courner, many fans of the books, and who ever they drag with them will see the film. However some books have in the past been made into movies, and those who read the books and saw the movies usually say something along the lines of: "The book was so much better than the movie."

There has been Harry Potter, Eragon, Twilight, Shakespeare, How to Train Your Dragon(loosely based), The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Vow, The Help, The Woman in Black, War Horse, and many, many, many(many!!)others just to name a few some/somewhat recent ones.

I am writing this on my iPhone from a Barnes and Noble. This is 21st century technology at work, allowing me to do my youth voices post from a device that is no bigger then a wallet but can do more things then a regular desktop.
