I just read a Wikipedia article, "2010 Haiti Earthquake," Wikipedia: The free encyclopedia. 14 January, 2010, http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=2010_Haiti_earthquake&oldid=337815187. I liked this article because it was very informative.

One sentence from this article that stands out for me is: "Most of Port-au-Prince's major landmarks were significantly damaged or destroyed in the earthquake." This stood out for me because it takes times to build a building and major landmarks were destroyed.

I'm pretty sure this is accurate, because there are external links on the bottom of the page that had information on the earthquake.

Another sentence that I liked was:  "The International Red Cross has stated that as many as 3 million people have been affected by the quake, with as many as 100,000 deaths likely, according to the prime minister." I think this is tragic because 3 million peoples' homes were destroyed and 100,000 people died.

I double checked this fact on http://live.reuters.com/Event/Haiti_earthquake. Which made me feel pretty sure that it is true.

What I learned from this article is there were many casualties and a lot of people lost their homes, and I will look to see how this article changes in the future because I would like to know any more additional details of the earthquake in Haiti.
