I'm learning more about child abuse right now, and in particular what I'm wondering is: Are there any other ways to abuse a child without psysically hitting them? As I was reading in my google reader, a news item "Woman facing child abuse charges" http://www.record-eagle.com/local/local_story_127234841.html caught my attention because it talks about how a woman didn't actually hit her kids but what she did was still abuse. It really connected with the question that I had.

The quote I chose here is basically saying that a 21-year old mother left her four kids (ages 4, 3, 2 and 1) left her kids in her car. They were poisoned because of this.

I think this is very sad because the childrens' mother just left them in her car, not caring what happened to them. Maybe because the woman was a teenager when she had her kids, that she couldn't deal with the responsibily. It makes me wonder to what extent people will go in order to get rid of their kids. This is a sad story and hopefully the mother gets a punishment that she deserves.
