im learning more about fashion right now, and in particular what im wondering about is: How is Abercrombie and Fitch and American Eagle trying to keep up wtih H&M? As i was reading in google reader, a blog post, "AE and A+F; under pressure", Fashionista, April 2 2009, http://fashionista.com/2009/04/ae_and_af_under_pressure.php caught my attention because it was talking about how stores like AE and A+F were under pressure, and i was wondering if it had anything to do with the economy and if they were closing or something. this sparked my interest becuase i dont like stores like those since they are so preppy and everything looks the same in there.

"We think it has more to do with what you’re buying and where - After all, how many versions of the ribbed gray tank top does A+F think a girl really needs?"

I choose this quote becuase i thought it was funny and very true. All they sell in these stores are the same shirts in many different colors and some jeans. they also talked about H&M since they said that these places were trying to become more like H&M with more new shippments and new types of clothes coming in more often. But this also says that it is more of what the store sells than how often they get more clothes. Since H&M has many different styles and really interensting clothes that is probably why they have so much more business than AE and A+F.

This post caught my attention because it includes 3 of my favortie stores. even though H&M is different in style than A&F and AEO they still have nice tanktops and sweaters. I don't think A&F and AEO will go out of buisiness because most of their clothes are expensive and lots of people wear their clothes. but yeah I agree H&M is way better and addresses to a broader audience.

hey sofia, looks like both our projects have to do with fashion!!!! yay
