Alex Rider: Scorpia Rising Part 3
I just finished reading the novel Scorpia Rising, and I have to say that this was by far one of the more action packed, surprising endings. This was the final novel in the Alex Rider installment, and I must say that it is by far my favorite ending. I think that what separates this ending from the rest was the idea that there were multiple enemies as opposed to just a single one. In past novels, Alex Rider has been sent to infiltrate a particular location and organization, and usually only encounters one villain. However in this novel Alex Rider encounters and fends for himself against both a villain named Razim and a villain named Gunter. Both men have a bone to pick with Rider, and have been paid a substancial amount of money to finish him, permanently. On top of the fact that their are to assassins after Alex, the are also both supposed to kill the Secretary of the United States of America.
Although these novels are far fetched and are border line ridiculous, there is something about the novels that captivates me. The idea of a school boy from a British school being recruited by the special organization known as the MI6 and fighting villains/terrorists amuses me. Inside every person whether it is evident or not there is a child, wanting or wishing they could do or be something. I am not saying that I secretly dream about being a py for the CIA, but I think novels like these allow silly dreams to remain a reality.
