Always Running reminds me when I got beat up

Always Running Chapter 1

In the beginning of the chapter he starts to reminisce about when he was 9 years old. He talks about how his dad was a principle and was accused of stealing school funds so he went to jail for it till he was found innocent. He speaks that his parent got married and his mother was 27 and his dad about 40. He speaks on how him and his family ended up on watts and they joined his sister's family. His father got disowned by his father because he fell for a woman and it messed up his studies. His mother would find jobs cleaning houses and if not the garment industry. He speaks on how his brother will take out his rage on him when they were playing he would play really rough. He talks about how his mom was sick because she had diabetes and she was overweight. Then he remembered going into the wrong neighborhood and his brother got beating up by a group of kids. He speaks about hardly speaking english and how embarrassing his moment will be. He will move out a lot because of evictions and his dad always try to find a better job. Finally he talks about how his parents broke up and got back together.

I am interested in the book Always Running by Luis J.Rodriguez because of everything that is happening in the book with this boy's life. For example in page 27 line 24 “not speaking well makes for such embarrassing moments” this is interesting to me because it is hard to function in society when you can't communicate with people. In addition i wonder if this will or will not be a problem later on in the story.

So far what happened to Rano in Always Running reminds me when I got beat up as well by a group of kids when i was young. In addition this related to me because i was just wondering off as well and a group of kids just picked on me and beat me up. Next i felt helpless and very scared because I didn't expect it to happen to me. Also this part plays another part so i feel it related to me.

I am looking forward to reading the rest of the book because I wonder what is going to happen to him and his family later in the story. Also I want to see if they overcome all of their obstacles. I think that there going to be alright despite everything and his parents will probably be stable later on.
