For the third quarter, I am reading George Orwell's book, Animal Farm.

Animal Farm is simmiar to modern life in that we will always dispute over how government will be run.  There are struggles such as nuclear weapons but not to the magnitude of the fear in the 1940's.  Our fear of other ideas is very simmilar to modern life.  This book was written durring some of the scariest times in our history while people were living in constant fear of their homes being bombed.  The story resembles these struggles by describing the life of a people living under a totalitarian government.  Governments like China and Cuba resemble these struggles with people living under communist control unable to make their own decisions.  Animal Farm resembles this stuggle by a metaphor to animals and their masters.
