awesome!!

I just read a Wikipedia article, "nature versus nurture" Wikipedia: the free encyclopedia. 11/18/2008 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/nature_and_nurture. I feel robust about this article because I mean I have always wanted to know why people act the way they act. What makes them tick, what makes them happy. Kind of like a shrink but to a lesser extent,I just think its important that people know why human beings act. People will be able to associate better.
One sentence from this article that stands out for me is "which nature or nurture, contributes more to personality by asking in response, "which contributes more to a rectangle its length or its width?" I think this is awesome because I could see even though its not neccessery how the rectangle symbolizes a person/human being for a rectangle itself. I would say its a balance because without the length, there cant be a width. There is a certain amount of sides depending on whether you want to make the rectangle 3d or not needed.
Im pretty sure this is accurate, because I researched the facts on wikipedia.
Another sentence that I really admired was "extending to influence such as media.marketing and socioeconomic status" This stood out for me because seriously,tv and video games do have an effect on kids these days. Much more,a negative effect on the youth. They just round up all teens into this niche of drama and all that applies when really life could indeed be so much better. That is why kids are so unruly and have more problems and go out and do rediculous things.
I double checked this fact on wikipedia.org which makes me feel pretty sure that it was true.
Theres something in this article that I think might not be accurate. It says, "with regard to the big 5 personality traits as well as adult IQ in the general U.S population, the portion of the overall variance that can be attributed to shared family effects is often negligable" theres somethign wrong here because it just doesnt logically make sense. I think that IQ is somethiong your born with, your natural ability to learn and know alot comes from your parents and it gets augmented for better or worse as you grow. I dont think we are blank slates when we are born.
What I learned from this article is that i think its like a balance and i think it depends on what aspect of personality your talking about.
