Being a thin ballerina

Being a ballerina, there is alway pressure of being thin and atheltic. There is a certain body shape required to become a ballerina. But not everyone is built the same. People come in all different shapes and sizes, and very few people fit the exact body shape of what a ballerinas body should look like.


Having a job or hobby that makes you feel you have to be thin. Ballet dancers, gymnasts and models are under a lot of pressure to be thin.[1] [2] [3] [4] For men, sports like bodybuilding and wrestling increase their risk of getting anorexia.[3]

The media has also been attacked for promoting ideals of beauty: To be thin is in, and is reflected in celebrities, fashion models, dress sizes (there is now a size 0), the diet industry and body image pursuits that include ballet and gymnastics.
