  1. Who is the best nature author to read?

“Carson, Rachel. Silent Spring. Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1962; 1987.

Emerson, Ralph Waldo. Nature and Selected Essays. New York: Penguin Books, 2003.

I first searched “best nature writers” on Google. From there I went to the University of Illinois library page that gave me a list of some nature writers and allowed me to search that database. I was convinced the list was credible because I had heard of many of the authors before and had personally read many as well. This is how I found the answer to my question.

Next I used the Wonder Wheel search tool on Google and I stumbled upon the ASLE Classic Nature Books page and that gave me a list of 10 great books about the environment, many of which corresponded to those I had found on my previous search. (There is a lot of information about each book so I just put the link in below.)
