Black boy is a novel which is an autobiography. Richard Wright is a child whose life is taking the most unexpected turns. He goes through a bitter struggle on a daily basis, with his family against him from all sides. His innocence taken away from him as a child by a few men who manipulated him and caused him to do cruel things and say cruel things, and gave him alcohol in the end.
I am loving Black Boy by Richard Wright because it simply is so compelling. An example of what i meant by unexpected turns is easily located on page 111.

“..Richard, you better come and see Mama. She’s very sick,” he said
I ran into my mother's room and saw her lying upon her bed, dressed, her eyes open, her mouth gaped. She was very still.
...... “Looks like a stroke to me.”
“Just like paralysis,” said another.

I think this is an extremely tough thing for a child to go through simply because Richards mother had suffered from a stroke and now she had been paralyzed. Now he was without a mother because she needed treatment. She was all he had in the world.

So far the Story of this novel is perplexing but very enjoyable to read, solely to find the ultimate destination of Richard. I am looking forward to reading this entire book because i have a desire to find out what will truly happen to him.

ARSIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MAH MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude, I dont really like doing a lot more work than I need too. Just writing the page number and some quote doesn't tell you anything about what you be talking about. I dont know what page 111 is unless I had the book at hand. And I doubt I would go out of my way to get this book from a store or something synonomous with that just to see what they have to say in the book. You have the quote in place which is good, but unfortunatlly, there was more after that you had to include. Also, it is not an autobiography. Ask PAllison, he will tell you. It is half and half. Half real and half fake.

But I disagree with you. Just wait for the book to get around page 200, Eerything gets redundant and sorta boring.

I love you.
