Book Connections- Breaking Dawn
Breaking Dawn
So far i am half way into the book and this is what happened up to the point till i stopped reading. Bella and Edward's wedding goes well, except when Jacob shows up and gets upset, though no one but the happy couple notice. Bella and Edward leave for their honeymoon on Isle Esme, a gorgeous tropical island in South America. The couple try and successfully make love, but it leaves Bella bruised all over. They continue enjoying themselves, and Bella convinces Edward to have make love with her once more. When Edward is away hunting one night, Bella awakes and eats some chicken. She gets sick, and assuming it was bad chicken, throws it out and begins puking. She continues getting ill, and finally realizes what day it is. She is five days late for her period, and has had this strange sickness, and weird dreams. She even has a small bump forming, though they have only been on the island for two weeks. Edward calls Carlisle while he packs their things hastily. Since the last time i stopped reading i was thinking if Bella really got pregnant and what would Edward do.
I think Breaking Dawn, by Stephanie Meyer is interesting, thought provoking, and you have an "edge to your seat" feeling when you start reading becausethe problems that the two main characters hav e between them are realistic in life.
Another part that I liked was when Bella is laying down as Edward takes the baby out of her and places her in her arms, only to take the baby away quickly. Bella becomes unconscious, and seemingly dead to Jake who leaves the room as Edward takes a syringe of his venom to stab Bella's heart and inject his venom. He also goes along her arm, biting and liking the womb. Bella describes the pain as fire, and remembers Rosalie saying it doesn't d any good to scream. This is an example of something important in this book. This is the climax of Part 1 in the book. I really like this part because its a very dramatic scene.
This section of Breaking Dawn reminds me of the movie Twilight because this book was written by the same author, Breaking Dawn is a sequal to Twilight.
What's probably going to happen next is that Bella and Edward are going to have many obsticales since Edward is a vamypre and Bella is human.

I really like your response. In a way it is similar to mine because wee are both reading the same book, but we both chose different scenes. You chose the one where Bella got preagnant and I chose the one when Bella and Edward and the rest of the Cullens Clan + friends try and protect Renesmee. I do agree that Breaking Dawn has a lot of connections with the movie Twilight. Sometimes I find myself thinking about the movie when I am reading the book because I like to remember how the characters look like and how they would act in the situation.
