As we were in class my teacher had brought up a topic that is nationaly known. People have been talking about it for a while and it never occured to me because it really didn't affect me. I never go to beaches but today I realized it affects all of us. The BP oil spil has been going on for 3 weeks now. It occured on the gulf of mexico. It has taken the lives of many sea creatures. This may be the biggest oil spill that the world has ever seen. BP should take responsibility for since it was theirs to begin with. However the world wants to stop this as soon as possible. The oil spill isn't really a apill it more  of a bursting leak. This leak is still spilling into the ocean.I have researched this online and found an interesting website, http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/subjects/o/oil_spill..., and I've found an article on the Gulf of Mexico.

"Birds: 820 have been collected, with 298 of these visibly oiled. 597 birds were dead; 223 were captured alive. 28 have been released.Sea Turtles: 289 have been collected; 243 were dead; 46 were alive.Mammals, Including Dolphins: 33 have been collected in the spill zone; 31 of those were dead. Determination whether oil was the cause of death is pending for 30 dolphins."

The quote I chose here is basically saying how animals and the envoirnment has been affected by this tragedy. there were a lot of losses. A lot of animals have died there. Considering the under water sea life, they are most likely harmed of dead from the oil spill.

Im not learning more about the ooil spill right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is nothing. I was not researching this question online, and this post caught my attention because mr allison siad so. He said to findd the one abovve my post.

People are trying to clean it up but there isn't much that has gotten done.

The quote I chose here is basically saying that its hard to get it cleaned and we are trying but not much is getting done and we don't predict for it to stop until August.

I think this is nice because it makes me wonder why this was caused. This should not have happened and we need more protection in these so things like these dont happen. You know?

Dear RClark, I totally agree

Dear RClark,

I totally agree with your post, "The bp Oil Spill". Animals all over have been dying because of the oil spill. This is a really bad tragedy. I think that the list of the animals is so big. I didn't know it was that bad and it really makes me wonder about what is going to happen to the rest. I can't imagine how it is to loose so many marine animals. I personally love dolphins and to me this is ver tragic.

I totally agree with you about BP taking full responsibility for this chaos. I agree because they are the one's to have damage the waters and now many sea creatures are dying. It is up to them to repair eveything. It is so sad how an oil spill can really kill so many dolphins. This reminds me of a quote from an article that I read that talk about dolphins being found in the coast dead and people trying to find out if it was because of the oil spill.

Thank you for your writing. This was a very good post and I hope to see more. It really gave me some information of what has been going on.
