The Burn Journals by Brent Runyon
So I have just started this memoir called The Burn Journals which was written by Brent Runyon. It's a book about his early teen years during a time when he lost hope in himself and decided to commit suicide. Brent is one of those really smart kids, but chose to be the rocker type, listening to Motley Crue and wearing all black. People liked him, found him amusing but he mad a mistake. His attempt failed when he set himself on fire, he soon chickened out and his brother called the ambulance. That was around the page that I stopped when he could only feel the sedatives in his blood and realized he had no hair, and his skin was charred. Brent had an Australian friend named Stephan and they have known each other for a long time. What caused his to want to commit suicide is due to an incident in school. He thought it was funny during gym to light a match and throw it on a shirt, then lighting the whole box, showing it in a locker and locking it. He knew he would get expelled when they found out what he'd done. So to not disappoint his family he wanted to get rid of himself.
