Butterfly Flowers
Like Butterflies they move in the wind.
Soft, yellow, purple, delicate...
Sometimes it looks like they can almost fly off the stems..
Slowly move from flower to flower....

Dear Sonia,
Thanks for this poem about Tricolor Violas. I really like how you used personification on the butterfly. It makes the plant seem like a butterfly is sitting on it for a rest.
I did some research into these flowers and found that it is also called Heartsease. I also found out that it has many uses.''The flowers have also been used to make yellow, green and blue-green dyes, while the leaves can be used to make a chemical indicator.'' (Wikipedia,Viola tricolor, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viola_tricolor)
This flower is also used for medical purposed. It is used to treat cancers, and have a long history of herbs.''As its name implies, Heartsease has a long history of use in herbalism. It has been recommended, among other uses, as a treatment for epilepsy, asthma, skin diseases and eczema. It has expectorant properties, and so has been used in the treatment of chest complaints such as bronchitis and whooping cough. It is also a diuretic, leading to its use in treating rheumatism and cystitis.''(Wikipedia, Viola tricolor, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viola_tricolor)
It seems like that this flower has many uses. Besides its beauty, these flowers were also included in William Shakespeare's play ''A Midsummer's Night Dream''. Shakespeare made the flower have magical powers of making a man or woman fall in love with the next person they see once they drink it.
All of this inspires me to write a haiku in response to your poem.
Pretty Butterflies
All over the big garden

Dear cyip,
I think that your poem is wonderful. I like the way that you showed that the butterflies were all over the garden and not just in one place.
I would like to read more of ur poems. Please let me know when you write another one of your amazing poems.
