Recently I read pages 105-120 in The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger and I absolutely think it's a good book because it's a little more interesting than it was at the beginning. Also this book was probably written based on the past and how things used to be before.

One line form this part of the book that stands out for me is: "It isn't important, I know, but I hate it when somebody has cheap suitcases." I think this is something a very criticizing person would say. I think that Holden has a weird way of look at things in his own perspective. I don't think that it should matter if the person has or doesn't have cheap suitcases. Holden is a very weird person because of this, maybe since it's something I never heard anyone say before...maybe I don't know....

Another line that I thought as appealing was: "It made me feel not so depressed anymore." This stood out for me because I thought that this was very ineteresting in such a way. This particular line made me feel as though, Holden would stop being depressed about things and just look at things that make him happy. It's very weird because he always talks about things that make him unhappy instead of talking about things that do make him happy.

This section of The Catcher in the Rye reminds me of something that happened to me. One time I was feeling a bit down maybe even depressed about something that had happened earlier. So then out of nowhere I started looking at things in a different perspective, maybe with a lot of sorrow. Then I look at an ice-cube and saw how happy it made to just even see it. Then I realized that I was not being stupid, but actually appreciating things more and more, then I just stopped being sad.

What's probably going to happen next is Phoebe and Holden will have so much fun together on their sort of date and that will make him happy and get to know Phoebe as a person.

I am looking forward to reading the rest of this book because it's okay and it's getting a little better by the moment. I hope the book gets much better than what it is already. =)

Hey Christian, its me again. lol
Anyway, its cool how you can cheer yourself up by looking at things through a different perspective. I personally, thought this book is getting stupider as it goes along, but that's just me. I seem to have a weird opinion on things. ^_^
I'll most likely be writing to you again next week, so be prepared.
