From“quakestories” I read an article a student named Ashita K. from the International School of the Sacred Heart posted. It was an interesting article about her experience of the earthquake, while at school. Because she wasn’t near the place the earthquake hit, her school or her home was not very damaged. To her it “kind of felt it was the school sleepover” and felt she was “happiest person in this whole world”, from the fun sleepover at school.

Though to some people such as Ashika, the earthquake might have been enjoyable, while they missed school, slept over at schools, and did whatever they wanted, but to some people, the same disaster ruined their lives. Their homes were destroyed or flowed away, they couldn't go to school even if they wanted to, and they could not do anything, much less play.

However, Ashika’s experience was not all fun and games. She and her friends were scared and worried, experiencing the earthquake while separated from their parents. She remembered all the good memories she had with her friends and family while crying out with her friends at school. They were not even at their own homes, but at school where they had no idea what was going on and what was going to happen. Whether a person was directly in the place the earthquake hit and where the tsunami was, or was near or far, they were all affected in one way or another from the earthquake.
