CANTON — Over the last 13 years, Canton Elementary School has raised enough money to protect 168 acres of rainforest.

And this Earth Day, the good work is continuing.

As part of their Earth Day celebration, students at the school have joined thousands of schools nationwide to collect pennies to preserve land in Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru to protect critically endangered species. Their money goes to the “Adopt-An-Acre” program.
