I created this Scratch animation "The Cave" as my response to a project to create an interactive ethical story. An ethical story is one with a moral that distinguishes between right and wrong. The viewer is able to pick which side of the decision he/she wants to pick. It teaches the viewer a lesson that can later on help in life. My story is about a group of tourists and their tour guide going through a cave. However, this isnt any normal cave. This cave is covered in sharp rocks and high tides. There is no concrete roads for the tourists to walk on; only wobbly bridges. As the group explores, the tour guide gets stuck inside the one and only exit. Everyone would be stuck forever and would be left to die in the high tide waves. However, one man had a stick of dynamite on him. He had to choose between exploding the exit which would inevitably kill the tour guide, or do nothing and leave everyone to die including the man himself. The tour guide would be the only one alive since her head was out of the cave. I believe I was successful in creating my story because I fulfilled most of the requirements. I had created a 3-minute long animation that is interactive, I had two decisions that the viewer would be able to make himself, And I had limited my animation to age 13 and lower. This is one of my most successful animations yet.
