Being the number one super power of world, brings a lot of responsibility to the U.S. Responsibilities in the area of economy, political and even social. As a recent super power, for a while now; the U.S. has also faced even it’s most of challenging ordeals such as World War I, World War II, and even the Cold War which the U.S. seems to be fixing its terrible legacies left of the war. In the rising world today, lurks a possible Second-Cold War, and this time with the People’s Republic of China. Being the number two superpower, it is inevitable to resist being number one and that is the exact same thing that China at almost any cost.

While the turmoil that is occurring right now between North and South Korea, each leading to greater heights to that may repeat the conflict that occurred in 1953, but maybe this time it can be much worse than the previous incident. Many factors lead up to the dismay that there might just be a second Cold War as everyone fears. After World War II, we had two super powers in the world, in order words, this world was not big enough for the two of them. The United States of America and the Soviet Union both had small encounters whether economic or social, each leading to greater conflicts that eventually led to the Space Race and the wars that were indirectly fought between the Soviet Union and the U.S. such as the Vietnam War and the Korean War. By the end of the Cold War in 1991, the U.S. had became the world’s super power and flourished for what seemed a few decades or at least that what we would come to conclude. Since the Cold War fought between the super powers of the world, internal problems emerged and other wars that confronted the U.S. that came to haunt them from the past.

Today, we live int he so called “world” and the many conflicts that seem to go along with it. While the U.S. faces the problems in the Middle East, and in a way failing; it doesn’t seem to stop the U.S. from its position as the world’s Super Power in economics and government. The new runner up for the Second World Power that seems to be unstoppable at the time would be the People’s Republic of China. While China seems to be ahead in almost just about every aspect that the U.S. lacks such as education and technology, the Second Cold War traces seem to show little by little as the years go by. While the two Korea-s seem to deepen in turmoil that both countries have kept since the Korean War have arose back again. This time it might just involve much more than the both of the countries, but also its Allies. While North Korea seems to be on what some might say the “Communist Side” along with China, South Korea is being backed up by the U.S. Once again the U.S. is playing hero in Asia for a cause that was left from the Cold War against the Soviet Union, but the important question might be; will the U.S. be able to win?

The blog post “China Rejects U.S. Pressure Over Currency,” has “opened” my eyes a little more to the reality of China. As many may say that China is a rising country and the language itself is very spoken out there in the world, but this is only true if China would be seen this way. What a lot of people do no notice is that Mandarin is only spoken within the country itself, since the country contains so many people and packed beyond belief; eventually it is made into a runner-up for one of the top language spoken in the world. As for the rest of the planet, Mandarin Chinese is barely spoken. Another negative prospect China is only rising through what some might call a “two-faced” deal or man who’s not of his word. While the U.S. economy worsens, many people seem to ask why is China’s economy, still running well and fine? Well, that’s because they have cheated the U.S. out, when the U.S. had asked China earlier this year to strengthen its dollar, they did the total opposite. Questions arose when China’s dollar rose by one percent against the U.S. dollar; which is way more than any other time. Because of this weaken of the Chinese Yuan, we ourselves are suffering internally with the job corporations and the deals that China has put us on.

The U.S. has since then, pressured China and urged the country more than ever to strengthen the Yuan. China refuses and claims that if being kept pressured by U.S., it will escalate matters to a worse situation. So, logically thinking China first promised a better exchange rate and goes against its word to worsen our economic situation with its act. By doing so, we have lost plenty of jobs and the economy itself seems to frighten everyone. Lawmakers themselves are pushing to punish China if they do no act faster, and I couldn’t agree more. Our country does not deserve to be stabbed in the back by China like this because we have not done something as serious as this to exacerbate the situation to scales like today. China may seem like a flourishing country, but all because of the unfair games that they play.

In this current news item, we see responses by the Chinese and the Americans to ease tensions, but it is hard when both countries disagree on certain aspects. The article “U.S., China to resume military talks,” the discussion of the U.S. and China concerns the sale of arms or weapons to Taiwan, which seem to threaten China. Both of the presidents from the two countries are to meet and to discuss military relations between both nations, also in regards to the fact that both countries also need to cooperate in order to prevent further tension amongst themselves. The point that the countries are trying to reach is to get to know each others ambitions and how they run, since little is known by either country.

The patterns are similar to those of the Cold War, which ideally both the Soviet Union and the U.S. ended in okay terms after the Japanese surrendered. Militaristic, it is hard to conform with orders that U.S. must meet with countries such as Taiwan. In the Taiwan Relations Act, it is almost impossible to reject the sales of arms weapons to Taiwan, since the act itself ensures that Taiwan is required to protect itself. Although, the Chinese do not help this matter in any sort of way. From my perspective, China is being a bully to the surrounding Asian countries such as Taiwan and Japan. In the article it was also reported that China acted in an inappropriate manor towards the selling of weapons to Taiwan in 2007 by responding concerns over this matter. Also, earlier on this year in January we also sanctioned $6.4 billion arms deal with Taiwan which China once again acted negatively by suspending military talks with the U.S. With the situation Japan, the incident pertains to the fact that because the Yuan is not strengthened, Japan had to lower the worth of its Yen and eventually it could lead to a competition of who lowers their currency more. The U.S. and China seem to face tension in different aspects, some being economic and others being political. With the prestigious title of being the number one super power, the U.S. seems to pace itself with all the problems one at a time due to the fact that there are more problems beyond belief that the “Land of the Free” is facing. Even so, China persists to make matters worse on our economy, thus creating greater trouble between both of the nations. We do not know how long the U.S. will remain without acknowledging much of China or concentrating too much on the country, but what we do know is that China is pushing “the U.S. buttons,” and at it any moment a Second-Cold war can break out.
