Dear Hailing,  Your post

Dear Hailing,

Your post was informative and to the point. Chinese is the world's largest spoken language besides English. I am very fortunate to be learning it at such a young age. Inshallah(Hopefully) I can expand my experiences with Chinese like I am right now.

I agree with the fact that the world is changing faster than we think it is. "as Chinese-American Student .I know how important Chinese language will be in the future ." This line was striking to me because I've never thought of the situation from the perspective of a student who was brought up in China and now studies here. Mandarin is actually very important now and will continue to be in the future.

Learning a full 4 years of Chinese will give ant high school student a higher chance of getting into a good college because most of them only require 2 years. A student like that will be set apart from the thousands that apply to the Ivy League Universities.

"Second there are popularity of learning Mandarin around the world ,if you don't want yourself left behind you should make you own decision to it ." That is so true, anyone learing any asian language has a better opportunity of getting a good job because Asia is becoming the leader of economics in the world.

Thank you for writing about this topic. It will be nice to read a post from you again.

Thank you for your response

 Dear HChen:

I got mixed feelings from your post, "Chinese Language," because it was very true. From the perspective of a student, I believe that Chinese Language is very important. I am actually getting more acquainted with the language and will continue my study in college.

One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: "If we could speak a Chinese language ,we will be successful n the future .We can also have better chance to get better job in the future markets." I think this is true because China has become a stronger nation over the course of the 20th century and economically, it has become to second largest in the 21st century. With that being said, Chinese will come very handy and that is one of the perks that students get at the East-West School.

Another sentence that I was intrigued by was : "If you can speak Chinese life would be easier for you than others." This stood out for me because it is true, I couldn’t agree more how my life will be easier in the near future. As an future International Relations major language is something that I will need and my experiences as a  Mandarin learning student have led to being prepared in the future, for the number of items that you listed.

I don't mildly agree with you that we can fix the economical situation or conflict between the U.S. and China, if Americans learned Mandarin. One reason I say this is because many of the global leaders including China’s president Hu Jintao knows English. Another reason I disagree with you is based on the real conflict. I understand that teaching Chinese in America can ease tensions, but at the same time I am not sure that Americans will want to show any signs of submission in this race against the Chinese to be the world’s super power.

Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because you really thought out what you wanted to say. Also because the points that you made in your post were very interesting and it brings in a deeper discussion about China and the U.S.
