Cologne Expiration
Does Cologne Expire?
Cologne does expire. Factors such as heat, light, and oxygen can lead to the dissolving of the the perfume. Even if those factors are mostly avoided, the fragrance will expire. “An opened bottle will keep its aroma intact for several years, as long as it is well stored.” (en.wikipedia.com).
To find this answer I first just typed the question into google, that brought me to a lot of online forums that were primarily about perfume expiration, these forums had a lot of answers but many of them were conflicting and confusing. My next move was to just type cologne into google, this brought up a link to wikipedia which had a section about perfume preservation which answered my question.
By using related searches, I searched ‘cologne bottles’ and I found a site that specializes in selling vintage cologne, which once again offers a conflicting answer because it claims that these bottles are just as good as they were 50 years ago.
