Concussions
In a timeline search i read an article about a football player who dies from a concussion after a football game. I find it interesting that the New York Times would have written an article about football because at this time it was not a big game and concussions were even less known about. I also cam across a recent article from a few months ago that chronicles the life of an ex-professional football player and talks about the brain damage he endured during his career. The article talks about how 50 ex CFL players had an ImPACT test, a baseline test used to measure a concussed persons cognitive ability, administered to them and the majority of them scored in the poor range even without a recent MTBI. This study shows how concussions suffered at any time in life can cause permanent issues with brain function.
