This is an article for the magazine examiner, about the first face transplant in the US. The recipient was 46 year-old Connie Culp who got shot in the face by her husband, who failed to kill her. The operation took 22 hours! Still after rebuilding 80% of her face and leaving her disfigured, and unaccepted by her family, she wasn't able to eat solid food, smell, or breathe on her own before january. I think its horrible that her family cant accept her just because she is disfigured. She survived a blow from a shotgun, obviously its not her time to die and her family should be in tears of happiness right now.
