Cryptid Hunters Book Response
Title: Cryptid Hunters
Author: Roland Smith
Book Response Form: Book Review
Cryptid Hunters is a really good book that I enjoyed reading. This book is about
how things that may seem unreal can actually be true. It teaches you to look at life in an
open-minded way and it makes you question about what else is hiding in this world.
Cryptid Hunters is an adventure book. It includes traveling, mystery, secrets, and
dangerous missions.
What I thought that could make this book more interesting than before is if it
included more secrets and family mysteries about the main character’s grandfather. I
think adding a few more chapters in the grandfather’s POV will clear a lot of things up in
the book. Reading chapters in the grandfather’s POV will give readers an idea about how
he really is and what kind of person he is. If the story is only written in the main
character’s POV, the reader would only understand that part of the story, but the reader
wouldn’t understand why the grandfather is the way he is and all the things that happened
to him in the past. The grandfather in this book is depicted as an evil man and how he
makes money off of killing rare animals and lying to the world. The author doesn’t go in
great detail about how the grandfather lost his only child and now he doesn’t even know
where his granddaughter is. The readers don’t really get a sense of how the grandfather
would feel and they would only think of him as the evil man who only wants money.
This story is about how twins Marty and Grace are very different yet they are
siblings. Marty is very athletic and he enjoys cooking and drawing. Grace is smart and
knows lots of languages. When their parents are in a plane crash and cannot be found,
Marty and Grace are forced to go live with their uncle who they never knew existed.
When they arrive at their uncle’s own private island, lots of strange things happen and Marty and Grace are lost in a rainforest. Grace discovers secrets from her past that defines who she really is and the secrets of the family.
Cryptid Hunters discuss about creatures that many people believe to be fake and only belonging in fantasies. It questions how maybe dinosaurs or other creatures might be real because this world is far too large to explore every part of it so one part of the earth could’ve been unexplored with lots of other creatures that we have never seen before. I think that this book is very interesting and discusses all the things we secretly wonder about. How much we actually know about this world we live in. In this world, everyone thinks with a straight mind, never veering out to question or even think about the unthinkable. This story describes how a very logical person changed her opinion of her view of the world because of the adventure that she has gone through.
I think this book should’ve included more feeling and thoughts about the character. If we knew more about what the character felt when the events were taking place, we would get a better sense of how the character was really like. The book as a whole was a really good read and I think everyone who likes adventure books should read this book. It includes lots of adventures and actions in the book. Read this book and tell me what you think about it!
