Cuba Part 2

Discussion
Apr 5, 2012

I just visited CIA.gov which was a internet source that provided me with a lot of information on the country Cuba. It provided me with geography, people and society, government, and economy. As I continued to read through the sub-sections, the knowledge that I gained about Cuba was incredible. A lot of what I learned was from listening to the news, however this site doubled my knowledge.

One line in the article that stood out to me was "to increase enterprise efficiency and alleviate serious shortages of food, consumer goods, services, and housing." I found this quote to be important, as it shows that people are trying to make the adjustment to benefit the situation of the citizens of Cuba. If their is a shortage in food, consumer goods, services, and housing, that means that the people are struggling to make ends meet. A society or a civilization can not thrive when citizens are constantly scraping the bottom of the barrel doing any technique it takes to survive.
