 I'm learning more about death and murder right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is: Why are people so afraid of death?. As I was reading in my Google Reader, a blog post, "Mother arraigned on murder charge in son’s beating death," http://savannahnow.com/node/698383#, caught my attention because I thought it would be interesting. This spark my interested because i thought it was crazy that she was beating up her 3 month year old son. I think her anger was enormous that she couldn't help herself. But the worst part was that she beaten his son to death. I think she should put in a crazy center.
 

Ashley Latoya Mims was arraigned Tuesday on a murder charge in the beating death of her 3-month-old son last week. Chatham County Recorder’s Court Judge Tammy Stokes scheduled a preliminary hearing the case for April 21. Mims remains held without bond. Mims, 20, earlier was charged with aggravated battery in the death of Ervin Eugene Terrell after the child was beaten at her apartment in the 2800 block of Capital Street. The quote I chose here is basically saying that she was beating her 3 month baby boy to death, and died two days later.

 

 

I think this is strong because I don't agree with this quote. It makes me wonder why did his mother did that. I think that she should love him and take good care of him. I don't think anyone should beat a 3 month baby boy. Thats just insane.

This spark my interest because I thought that US soildier was suppose to protect people, not rape and killed them. This situation seem like when japanese took over and started killing people and raping womans.
 

Four other soldiers have already been sentenced in the March 2006 atrocity and the details which emerged during their court martials are chilling. The plan was allegedly devised over whiskey and a game of cards at a traffic check point in Mahmudiyah, south of Baghdad. Specialist Steven Green told his friends he "wanted to go to a house and kill some Iraqis,'' said Specialist James Barker, who received a life sentence for his role in the crime. The soldiers changed into black silk underwear and masks so they would look like insurgents and headed for the house of a 14-year-old girl they had seen walking through the village. They had decided the girl would make an easy target for their plan to "have sex with an Iraqi female'' because her father was the only man in the house, said Sergeant Paul Cortez, who also received a life sentence. Cortez testified that he raped Abeer Kassem Hamza al-Janabi while Barker pinned the sobbing girl to the floor. The men switched positions and then heard about four or five shots from a bedroom where Green had taken the girl's father, mother and six-year-old sister, Cortez said. Green shot the girl when he was finished raping her and the soldiers set the home on fire by tossing a lighter onto a Kerosene-soaked blanket covering her naked body, the other soldiers said. They then went back to their checkpoint about 200 meters away and grilled chicken wings.

The quote I chose here is basically saying Green and his friends were planing of raping a girl. They found a 14 year old walking on the street oneday and started following her home. They thought it would be easy because there are only one family member there. So they took turn raping the girl and killed her. After that, they went out to eat chickens.
 

 

I think this is strong because I don't agree with this quote. It makes me wonder why did the soldiers did this. I think that the soldiers should be put in death for raping and murder the girl for no reason.
