What I'm good at
Career goals

The world of Design and technology are more like one world nowadays. This is why design technology is an attractive subject to learn about. Using design skills to generate concepts that are out of this world is just fascinating. Everyday designers all over the world are increasing their standards from magnetic sofas to an infrared couch spa. There are tons of examples of people using their talent to benefit others. One of them is this prosthetic arm. Here is a quote from a design blog:

“The long deserted issue, the human body, has come across the industrial designer’s path, resulting the innovative and functional METIS concept that has been designed to redefine the future of human. Being connected with the human nervous system, this prosthesis concept can provide an amputee his access to the existing virtual dimensions around us by giving back his limb. Moreover, only if you can overlook the reality of a flesh and blood hand, this prosthesis features more advanced technologies than a real hand such as 360 degrees rotating ability of the arm, 3G, Wi-Fi, LCD display and rechargeable lithium-ion batteries to power the electric elements. With all these functional features, who knows, maybe future people will consider altering their real hand with METIS.”

The quote explains the specifications and details of the technology. METIS is a breakthrough in prosthetic arm technology. Coming back to my topic this was all possible because the design and technology worlds are colliding and its a beautiful thing like my pre-cal professor says.

Design technology has come a long way especially in the medical field. Prosthetic arms have helped many people be independent. This is very important to soldiers in the military who have lost their arms in combat.  Hopefully in the near future even I will be able to create amazing technology that help people.

There is more to come in the following weeks, senior year is pretty tough! :)
