I am exploring New York City as my theme. I am interested in this because everyday when I walk down the New York City streets and see so many things with the potential to be a great photograph. So when I had the opportunity to capture the wonders of New York, I decided to take it.

In this photograph, I see a one of the many streets of New    York. What my eye is drawn to immediately is the sign with graffiti on it. This is a common thing in New York City and I wanted to capture that. A thing that's uncommon in this picture is how empty the street is. There is no one in sight which is a rare thing in New York City. I know that this was taken in Manhattan during a nice afternoon. I know that there are a lot of apartment buildings in this area it is more quiet, because there aren't any stores attracting people. My interpretation of this photograph is that this picture shows a quieter more relaxed side of New York  City, while at the same time showing the more common things in New York City.

It has been said that one photograph is worth a thousand words. This could be true about this photograph because it is simple and calming, yet it also has a little thing that stands out and makes it unique. It reflects my theme in that New York City isn't only lights and people, it also has a calmer side to it.

One thing that I know about New York City, is that it is filled with surprises. It is described as the city that never sleeps, and is filled with lights, but the truth of the matter is that New York has many sides. One thing that I wonder about New York City and its different sides is how would I be able to capture all of them. I would like to successfully achieve taking a picture that captures the diversity in New York City. Not just ethnic diversity but the diversity of New York City culture. This makes me think of  the parts of new york with the lights, the parts that are quite, the parts with art, and the parts with water. <allow yourself to think about about the context of your theme and where you might go next with it>.

In this photograph, I see the Brooklyn bridge during the night and its lights. In the background you can see Manhattan and all of its buildings and lights. . I know that it is taken on the Brooklyn bridge, and during the night. My interpretation of this photograph is that it shows how New York City looks with all of the lights, but also a part where there isn't a lot of people. I think this photographer did an amazing job of capturing New York's beauty.

This photograph relates to my photograph because it is of New York City and it is the kind of photograph i would like to take. . As I look at this and other photographs, my next photographs will be capturing the side of New York City with  lights and skyscrapers. If I were to look up some information about my theme/topic, I would like to know more about places in New York that would be an example of how New York is diverse.

Since you are reading this post, I would like to ask you what are the types of things you would like to see captured in my New York themed photos?
