Different people have different ways of leading lives. Some people prefer to spend most of their time alone, while others like to be with friends most of the time. As far as I am concerned, however, I prefer to spend most of the time with friends. With friends, I learn more knowledge, gain more experience and strengthen our friendship.

To begin with, I can learn more knowledge when I spend time with friends. Different people have different knowledge. I am good at economics, some of my friends are expects of math and others are proficient in language. With friends at side, I can learn more knowledge. Nevertheless, I can see no advantage in this aspect if I am alone.

Moreover, I can gain more experience when I am with my friends. My friends and I often take a party on weekends. In addition, we often have new ideas about the activities. we sometimes cook ourselves or have a barbeque occasionally or go for a trip. All the experience with my friends enhances my life and gives me sweet memories. However, it is hard to have a party while I am alone, thus loss much fun and entertainment.

In the other hand, spending time with friends can strengthen the friendship and make more friends. When my friends and I gather, we often talk a lot about the recent news, discuss over interests and hobbies, and care for the health of each other. All the communications benefit the acknowledgement of each other and contribute to our further friendship. Meanwhile, I feel lonely and depressed if I spend most of my time by myself.

Admittedly, we also need sometime to be let alone. For example, when I need sleep to have a rest, or when I need a quite place to study, I leave myself alone. Considering the advantages mentioned above, however, I prefer to spend most of my time with friends.

Dear David

Your post "Do you prefer to spend your time alone or with friends?" was a very interesting post. My opinion is that i rather spend 50% time alone 25% with friends and 25% with family members. Why? Because when am alone I could relax and have a lot of time to think and just do things i like I mean don't get me wrong i love being with my friends but not all the time. I also love spending time with my family especially with my mom I feel like she's the only person that won't judge me and the only person that i can really count on and i know that she wouldn't let me down.

One sentence that you wrote that stands out for me was "Moreover, I can gain more experience when I am with my friends. My friends and I often take a party on weekends" I love partying with my friends I love partying period. I party every weekend Friday Saturday and Sunday if its possible.! And i really enjoy partying with my close friends. But then again a lot of bad things happen at night and in party's you never know you can be in a wrong place at the wrong time but i try to be careful.

In life it's not always about friends trust me. I've been threw so many situations that at the end of the day its only you in this world. Friends sometimes bring you into trouble am not saying friends are bad but there are very hard to find true friends .

Dear David,
I appreciated reading your posting and have to say that I'm torn between the two. While I definitely recognize all of the benefits you list for spending time with friends -and I love those benefits and feel them benefiting me -I find myself more often preferring to be alone. There's something about not needing to be accountable for anyone but yourself or worry about anyone but yourself. I'm aware that this may seem a bit guarded and I may prefer to be by myself for the wrong reasons, I can't help but notice it's what I'm naturally inclined to do.

You've definitely gotten me thinking about this!
