Dreams
I been researching about dreams and I find that topic to be very interesting. According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dreams, "Most dreams last only 5 to 20 minutes." I didn't know that till now. Because dreams last that long, you will have many dreams in the period you sleep. I find that cool. To me, dreams are like watching movies for a person when they are sleeping. Dreams are usually based on recent or current events in your life. There are many types of dreams but "The five most common dreams are that of falling, being chased, our teeth falling out, being back in school, and your spouse cheating on you." I had dreams about each one of them except for the spouse cheating on you because I'm not married yet, I'm too young for that.
People usually dream about falling because they are just starting to sleep so they are like falling asleep or it can be because they failed at something. A tip to help you not feel like you are falling when you are sleeping is to be "...Sleeping with the feet against the wall or with a pillow or other object touching the soles of the feet may give a sense of security that may prevent this reaction from occurring."
According to http://dreamsnightmares.com/chasedindreams.html, "Chasing dreams are usually about fears or anxiety." In the dream, people are being chased by something that have been fearing or worrying about. They are being chased from that thing that are fearing or worrying about. The person wants to stay away from that thing therefore he/she is running. Sometimes with these dreams, it can wake you up because you are so scared from the chase that you just want to leave that dream. When you wake up, you may be able to feel the panic in you. I really hate having these dreams because I don't like the feeling I get from them.
Another type of dream is for people who can't see. "People who have been blind all their lives still dream. But, their dreams are formed based on their four other senses (touch, smell, taste, and sound)." I find it cool that they base their dreams on the senses touch, smell, taste, and sound.
When you have a bad dream, it is called a nightmare. "Nightmares are universal experience that can haunt out nights even makes us sit up in bed, eyes wide and hand shaking..." (from www.npr.org title: The Science Behind Dreams and Nightmares: NPR) What he said gave me a great visualization of how scared a person is from a terrible nightmare. People usually have nightmares because of something they watched or something they experienced that they didn't like. Therefore the nightmare is the effect of what you did that wasn't pleasant. According to www.lifestyle.iloveindia.com, "Stress is another factor, which triggers nightmares. When a person is in extreme stress, he/she may get nightmares. In scientific terms, it is a way to release all the stress." I heard that yoga is a good sport to get rid off all your stress but I don't feel that way. At the end of my yoga classes, I feel less stiff, not stress free. However, you can give yoga a try and see if it helps you with your stress so you won't have anymore nightmares.
Have you ever sleep walked or sleep talked? Sleep walking is very dangerous because you will be sleeping and walking at the same time so you really have no idea what you are doing. My parents told me that I sleep walked before but I didn't believe them because how could I do that? I sleep on a bunk bed on the top part so theres a ladder and they said I didn't even fall when I was sleep walking. What a miracle. "Contrary to common wisdom, there is no danger in awakening a sleepwalking person" People should do that when they see someone sleepwalking because its more safe for the sleepwalker.

There is also a bright side which is on the right side of the picture. We have both nightmares which is bad dreams and we also have good, happy dreams. I find the dark side of the picture to be nightmares since nightmares are scary. I find the bright side to be not nightmares since happy, good dreams are bright and make us smile.
