The other day in class we took two surveys, Vote Easy and Select Smart to see which candidate we are most aligned with. I was 89% and 98% respectively for Obama. I'm definitely a democrat so neither surprised me very much. The two most important issues to me are Immigration and balancing the budget. Immigration hits somewhat close to home for me due to the fact that my grandparents were immigrants from China in the late 1940s during the communist revolution there. I think we should not send people back to there native country because they will just come back and I see nothing wrong with people just trying to have a better life. America takes pride in being a melting pot of nationalities and a place of opportunity. I think it is very un-American to deport people whose only crime is being here because they needed the opportunity that America has to offer. Which is something that me and Obama agree on. I think that Obamas plan for balancing the budget is better because instead of taking the money out of public programs (such as transportation, police, or schools) he just is going to raise taxes particularly for the upper class, which to me makes more sense than what Mitt Romney is saying we should do. If I could vote it would be for Obama.

Obama, Romney, or other

I get to vote this year and I have been watching all of the debates and researching the candidates. As of right now neither Obama nor Romney has won my vote. If I had to vote for one it would be no contest; I would vote for Obama. However, I am not really a huge of fan of Obama and I wouldn't feel right voting for him. On the other hand Romney has not won me over because for the most part I think he is trying to discredit Obama without really telling us what his plans are. If the election were today I would vote Gary Johnson the libertarian candidate. I took the same tests that you took and I lined up with Gary Johnson on almost every point. I do believe I will vote for Gary Johnson but I will still wait to see if Obama or Romney wins me over before the election.
P.S. I really wish we could live in a state where our votes actually matter, but until then we can pretend like our votes matter!
