The Emerging Social Media
Social media is a new problem. It is not the sites such as facebook, twitter, or myspace that cause the problem, it is the problems of privacy that are associated with them. There have been several cases in which the privacy assurance of facebook has been questioned. One such case was the case in which Laura Maguire and Christopher Simon sued facebook because it had been violating privacy rights by tracking the internet sites accessed by user's even when they were not logged in. What's more is that something that an individual posts on a social media sites may seriously effect their future. Employers are monitoring the accounts of many employees, people are being screened, and some law and child custody cases are being lost because of the information available on social media sites. Once something is posted, it is forever available through the internet even if the post, video, or photo is deleted. Individuals who use facebook an excessive amount of time may lose touch with reality. Instead of allowing us to become more connected with one another, social media is inhibiting the real relationships we may form face-to-face.

I completely agree with all
I completely agree with all of the thoughts that you brought up in your article. Whenever I mention that something like this is actually happening in our day and age, people don't really take me seriously and just start joking about how they couldn't "live without" twitter or facebook. Even though I myself are a user of both, I see what is happening around me an I really don't think that anything good will become of it. The first step is just getting people to realize that what is happening is bad, an the consequences of what it might turn into in the very near future.
