Enhanced perception

I'm learning more about perception right now, and in particular what I'm wondering about is: What is the nature of perception? How does it differ? As I was reading in my Google Reader, a blog post, "Amazing Enhanced Human Perception Abilities Are Emerging," By Steve Hammons, AlienSeekerNews.com, 03/16/2009, http://parabook.wordpress.com/2009/03/16/amazing-enhanced-human-percepti... caught my attention because it relates to my topic of perceptio and the ability to enhance human perception. I found it interesting that perception can be altered by humans.
We may soon need to change the word “anomalous” when referring to enhanced human intelligence of this kind, because it may no longer be “unusual.”
The quote I chose here is basically saying that peoples perception is being enhanced or changed so frequently now that it may soon be considered normal to have such perception.
I think this is interesting because as said before in previous bookmarkings I had learned that perception is the base of reality. If you can actually change the way people percieve the world then you can change how the world and what reality is.
It makes me wonder if my perception on things was changed in my life or if it is different from other people in the world. If perception has become to altered and "enhanced" by people how can we know what reality is. How is it we can tell if our perception on the world is the true way the world is? It states that people have enhanced perception now about instinct and about intuition but if that can become enhanced or altered can't all of our human perceptions be altered? Sight? Hearing? How can one tell if they see the truth or the "enhanced"?

I have read your view on
I have read your view on perception, and I happened to check out your bookmarked news article. I find it very interesting, and thanks to you, I'm starting to think about human perception as well, because I haven't really ever thought about it. =]
I am glad you found it
I am glad you found it interesting and it inspired you to think. I have always been facinated by the thought that the world may not be what I see it as. It is amazing to me how possible this actually is. You may be interested in veiwing my recent post with the picture because it demonstrated my thoughts, or curiousities, quite well. I was shocked by how easy it was to find such clear representation. Perception is a very unique subject that everyone deals with daily and few actually take time to analyze or question. Perception is the world and it's amazing that with changing perception you can actually change limitations and life it's self.
