Europe- Laurie's Voicethread

These are a few pictures taken in Europe over different summers. The pictures provide a variety of natural and agricultural feelings. After reading Susan Sontag's description of her ideas on photographs, I was inspired to edit my pictures using Photoshop. I used different techniques, such as levels, and cropping. I cropped the pictures to get my picture to focuss directly on one subject, or area. I also used levels, which allowed me to create the depth, and color I wanted. The levels also cleared up any washed out photos. Susan Sontag inspired me to use these pictures as a form of memory, or even proof that I was there.

I really like how you made different colors stand out and different color tone down. The colors are beautiful! Great job picking the pictures and colors!

There is a great representation of colors in your photos. I'm sure that if you didn't adjust the colors, the photographs wouldn't be the same.

I noticed how you used contrast in a lot of the pictures. The first photograph is interesting because the mountains in the background contrast with the house in the front.

 The images you chose to

The images you chose to capture are very cinematic and movie-like, which makes me appreciate them more. The lighting is very attractive and brings out the liveliness of the pictures.

The feeling

I liked that the feeling of the piece gives you a sense that it is calm and quiet. -KAYLA SMALL :-D
