Facebook Getting Too Personal

Facebook allows friends and family to access personal information that either you or another person posts on the internet. Some users are getting concerned that Facebook has taken the personal information part too far. There is a section of any person's profile, that is designated for personal inforamtion such as: age, gender, hometown, birth date, and so on. In a new section of this information is "Wellness". Under the "Wellness" tab, you may now specify if you are an organ donor. Information about broken bones, vision, illness, addiction, and weight loss are also an option to add to your personal profile. Although this may seem a bit inimate for the internet, some argue that it is purely beneficial.
In a time of crisis, some argue, that this inimate health information can allow personal consent for something like an organ donation. Others argue that it is not a valid document to do such a thing and that this addition to Facebook could really have an impact.
This article begs the question whether our society is taking technology too far, or if this is the new way of combining social networking with medical consent.
