Mark Haddon has a very interesting way of writing when it comes to the book, The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-time. In the book, Haddon expresses details in a way in which the reader can connect and actually picture the words being read. Let's take the example of Christopher from the book. At the beginning, hes is presented as a little awkward, but we then learn of his conditions. The book clearly explains Christopher in such a way, as to even let the reader know what he feels and how his actions are meant. The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-time can sure entertain one's self.

I am loving The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time, by Mark Haddon, because it's such an appealing book by the cover and back of the book. An example of what I mean is on page 1. "It was 7 minutes after midnight. The dog was lying on the grass in the middle of the lawn in front of Mrs.Shears's house." I think this is descriptive because just reading the words puts my mind in a state of thought and wondering. This line also captivates the reader themselves in such a way.

One of the big ideas or themes in this book is family problems. You can see this on page 112 where it says: "Then I stopped reading the letter because I felt sick. Mother had not had a heart attack. Mother had not died. Mother had been alive all this time. And Father had lied to me about it." As you can see Haddon wants us to think  about life and how sometimes we can be really lucky to not go through what others have, also to be thankful for what you have. Basically life can be very mystertious you never know what will happen, surprises are always waiting for you out the door.

This theme in The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-time, reminds me of something important in my life. For me things at home have been pretty weird. It feels like everyhting has changed all of a sudden, and surprises appear everywhere. I think back of the book and see that twists and turns all happen just because of something so small. Either way, life will always be changing and people such as me should be ready for the bad and the good.

I am looking forward to reading the rest of the book because I can relate and make personal connections with it. I just enjoy books that me as a teenager can find interesting at a personal level. What's probably going to happen next is, Christopher will finally reach the ligh from all his problems and grow mature from the experiences that life itself has put him through.
