Festival of Colors

Jan 12, 2012

The Festival of Color takes place in Spanish Fork, Utah. It is an indien celebration and thousands of people gather-all wearing white-and leave hours later with happy smeared faces and color splashed clothing. There is a strong sense of community at this celebration where people buy colored flour and throw it at others and themselves. The event is focused around laughter, meditation, singing, and unity. There is also a huge countdown at the end of which everyone throws up all their remaing flour creating a huge colored smog above the crowd which lasts for several minutes. I went to the festival last year and I have never had more fun.
