First impressions on others
One: I am learning more about human first impressions right now, and in particular what Im wondering about is : Why do people think first impressions is the best way to judge people? Why do people judge others anyways, that is what I dont get, just get to know the person instead of thinking bad thoughts. I was researching this question online, and this news item caught my attention because of what it said, Afghanistan Shot and Told. It really caught my eye. Something that I saw in the summary was how people were being treated horribly in Afghanistan and I think it should stop because it is hatred. It sparked me because innocent people are being killed for no reason.
"That's a tough question to answer, since so many aspects of this experience wowed me. I guess the first impression that comes to mind is a conflicted feeling between wonderment and sadness. When visiting the unfathomable, breathtaking beauty of the Band-e-Amir lakes of Bamiyan, I was certainly awed. However, I also felt a pang of sadness, since I was one of the only people to be out viewing such a beautiful site. Of course, one should expect a dramatic drop in tourism for any place that experiences war, but actually visiting such a beautiful place that deserves to be shared with the world and realizing that the whole area is nearly void of people, is a curious experience. As a photographer, you're happy to have the place to yourself, but once you've taken your shots, it would be nice to be able invite people back in from the sidelines so that they could continue enjoying the site."
Two: The quote I chose here is basically saying by looking at these kids by first impressions you can tell that they are really sad about what have happened in their country and they dont know what they did wrong to deserve this. It is really sad to see kids suffering for no reason at all. Also when people look at Muslims, they judge them by saying that you are a terrorist and stuff like that because their people were the cause of the destruction on 9.11. I dont know why people would blame other people for problems.
Three: I think this is sad because It makes me wonder what this world is going to turn out to be in the future. What will happen in the future if these first impressions keep on going on. Will people ever realize what they are doing? Maybe later on first impressions can lead to many problems when you go up to that person and say some nasty stuff to them. First impressions are only good for certain times, but not all the time.
