First time being a DJ

My first time being a DJ at a party was pretty exciting.

Nervousness took over my body because it was my first party and I didn't know what crowd to expect. I walked in without any fears at all because nobody had arrived yet. I kept saying to myself, “I've got this in the bag.”

Then one guest walked in. Two, four, eight. They came in drones, one after the other. At this point I was very scared and nervous.

All eyes are on you, and you're expected to put forth your best the first time. If not, there won't be a second time. I played to the best of my ability.

It was a long moment, 8PM to 2AM, the longest I've ever played by myself with no relief, no back up DJ.

End of the party, I thought I didn't do well. Boy was I wrong!

The woman who booked me has never regretted booking me, and she still calls me till this day. Many of her other friends request me from time to time as well.
