The future

Discussion
Mar 27, 2012

The time has come where seniors must face the fate and open the one letter that could possibly change our life. College acceptance letters are being sent out and there is no way of avoiding the stress and anxiety they bring. We all want to get into our dream college. This is why we have been working hard for four years now. Up until this moment the reality that we are deciding our futures has been nonexistent. Where we choose to go and what we plan to study is all riding on a single letter.

Just a few years ago, college was the goal we all dreamed of. The idea of moving away from home and experiencing new people, teachers, and adventures was exciting and new. But now that it has arrived, it all seems to be a dream. After fighting through all nighters, waking up early for the SAT, and nailing ourselves to our computers to finish college essays, we as seniors can officially say we have made it though this experience.

Knowing that we are all done and have no control over the choices the colleges will make is scary. It leaves room for questioning whether or not we fully performed to get into that one school. But within only a few more weeks, we will all send know where we are going, apply for housing and registering for classes. It is crazy to think that we will officially be leaving the little high school of 800 students and on to an unknown world known as college.

Sarah,

Beautifully written. It is amazing that college is finally here. Make the most of the last few months of high school.
Good luck with acceptance letters.
