Gardening in the City

My mother used to grow beautiful roses in our backyard and we had big lilac bushes on the side of our house. It always smelled so nice in the spring and sumer months when the warm air blew through the yard. Now that I am a grown up, I live in an apartment building and do not have a yard to make my own garden in. I have created a small indoor garden of potted plants and herbs. I wonder what the best growing indoor plants and flowers are.
