Will I be able to get married on day?

During today's society and government issues, people are not thinking much about the idea that two guys getting married. The most the government is now trying to figure out and help in is the economy which is the number on thing right now for the government, also the issues of medicare, and also issues of what is going on with relationships between nations.  The most I have heard about in the news about this is the last states that have gotten it through, which is the most states from the north east.  I was wondering on how funny this was because of the fact the the states in the North East were mostly into the religious freedom.  The north east was the most religious part of this country.  As time went by people starting diverging into more into the country and well now a days the most religious parts of the country would be the parts of the great plains and some parts of the Rockie Mountains.  The places where there are a lot of cities and lots of different kinds of people, there people are more tolerant, and more open minded to these kinds of thoughts and these kinds of ideas of gay marriage.  But no a days the new generation of people are now becoming more open minded.  The new kids are being more educated, and being less ignorant, and becoming much more mature then our generation.  After time people become more and more educated of things and mistakes and errors people have done in the past.

"Gay rights takes on new steam this week across the country as tens of thousands of gay activists marched on Washington Sunday. What's unique to this march is that more than 100 religious leaders endorsed the National Equality March on behalf of gay rights. For some religious leaders, the journey for gay rights was a step of faith from bigotry, to gay activism.

I'm learning more about gay rights right now, and this blog post has taught me a lot in this matter. I was researching this question online and trying to find more information and updates on this topic and I came across this article about gay rights and religion. This caught my attention because it had the word gay and religion in one sentence but without a word that separates them or a word that makes them totally opposites. Instead it said that religion was actually helping out for gay rights.

The quote I choose here is basically saying that all this time of fighting and all this time of being ignorant and being more of the closed minded and reserved conservative America, that people are finally coming together and starting to understand what it actually means to come together and be one whole. People are seeing the waste of time fighting it when at the end they can coexist in peace and without any issues. Its making the future of America much more brighter for everyone including the LGBT community.

I think this is a strong quote because it makes me think that a lot of things do change if you fight for you word if you fight for your rights. People that do not give up are people that can keep on going and going until they make it, and the LGBT community has never stopped fighting for their rights and for their voice to be heard and to be treated as equal citizens of America. Now I think that maybe if this happens I'm wondering whats going to happen on the next congress votes for gay marriage in each state? Will people start voting for gay marriage and will this all come to an end finally? Or will they keep on voting against and be more conservative?

“I think he has a lot on his plate,” said Rachael McIntosh, 25, of Worcester, Mass. “But I’d hoped we’d be a priority.” Ms. McIntosh raised a sign that read “Nobel Peace Prize. Earn It!”

this news article on the NY Times also came to my attention, and it was about the gay march on Washington D.C that took place a couple of days ago. In this March people from all corners of the country came to give support and help out wit the gay or now known as the civil rights movement. I think that in this quote specifically it states what our governmnet is doing for us. In this quote a lady states the the president has a lot on his plate as in we are in times that are economy is low and our money has low value, and that people are loosing their jobs and everything. But along side that there is now the issue of gay rights that he has to see through because in these times of hardships people know that the government should be there for us. Now in the quote it also says that we want to make sure that we are not being forgotten by the president and if we are not getting put aside and ignored. On this day people marched to go give the president a wake up call to tell him we are still here and we are not seeing any progress and we are waiting for something to happen.

Now what I'm wondering is what is the president going to do now? Because in his speech on the march he said that he is on top of this and he is going to help us get our rights he is going to help us with eliminating don't ask don't tell on the Military, and he will be focusing on making us equal to everyone else in this country. He will help to eliminate discrimination by passing the law that will eliminate that in work and anywhere so life for LGBT people would be much easier and equal.

of course you will get

of course you will get married your a beatiful person and you deserve it but jokes aside you will because everybody deserves to be happy and nobody should stop it from happening I mean no matter if your a man with another man or a women with a another women the finally thing is that you guys want to be together and you should have that nobody should say no to that. When I read about the that many religious leaders joined it was about time no offense but it was about I mean don't they preach that you should get married out of love and well you guys feel love and want to get married because of that just like a straight couple they get married with love like you guys want to so why shouldn't everybody vote yes to the marriage policy.

I mean there are going to be people that might say noo and other's that will say yes but ones that say no are always going to be the ones that are blinded by acceptance I mean they are not ready to accept the fact and it might take them long time and if they keep fighting then they will finally come around and accept the fact that gay marriage should be legalized.

Dear Edgar,

AWWWW! Reading your piece touched me in a way. :) I've never really thought and knew about how you would feel about marriage. Especially, in special circumstances, where we are dealing with Gay & Lesbian couples. I totally agree with you on the fact that people should definitely fight for what they believe in and never let any chance to change something pass them by. Legalizing Gay marriage has always been an issue in the states and many states have been fighting hard to get their points across. Keep fighting! I wish you the best & you will get married one day if that is what you truely want! :D No more discrimintaion!

Hey Edgar,

I read your article and it touched me to know how you felt about marriage. You are a great person and one day you will get what you want. Be happy, things are changing, if we have a African-American president know, who knows what the future holds. There is discrimination for LGBT people but keep fighting for what you believe in. One day things will change for the better.

I agree with your post. Gay rights should be legalized in every state. Judging people by their sexual orientation  is not good at all. It's just like being rasist. People think that it's ok to do or say stuff that they think won't hurt gays. They have feelings too. I thank you for showing this issue.

Hey Edgar<3 I really liked

Hey Edgar<3

I really liked your post on gay rights because I feel that a lot of people consider talking about the issue of gayness taboo and I absolutely love that your so open and honest about it.

I agree with you that people are becoming more open about the issues gays face and the gay generation in general. I notice how my own little sister and brother have become more open in more ways than one on different issues. The only issue gays now face is the parent complex. I just came up with that lol, but basically it means that when a parent feels strongly about an issue, not just about gayness, then they pass on that belief to their children.

The parent complex could change of course but I think it depends on the environment the children are immersed in. For example if a child goes to a catholic church, their beliefs of whats right and wrong will be altered than what may actually be the truth. To go out into a world later so close minded on what other people tell them as supposed to experiencing things themselves could hurt their social skills and could make it hard to get along with certain people.

The government is ignoring the problems with gays rights at the moment because of the financial crisis but they cant ignore it forever. I once spoke to those people who stop you in the street to talk about gay right with you and there is a lot more being done when it comes to gay rights than anyone realizes. Some cases have even been brought to the supreme court and they've won.

Keep your head up Edgar I wanna be there for your wedding ;)

First of all LGBT rules!!!!

Submitted by dguaman on Thu, 2009-10-22 19:54.

First of all LGBT rules!!!! Second I think that gay marriage should be allowed, I mean come on the government shouldn’t tell us who we can or cannot marry.  The government should just let people get married and let them have the right to adopt kids. I see that having two gay parents makes the child a better person and more caring about important things.  People should care about this. I find it horrible how some people think it’s a waste of time to think about it because they think it’s not important and that later on no one will care. Well guess what people do care and we will still care because we have rights that NEED to be acknowledged!!!!
