Propaganda is inaccurate and biased information that can be spread through a variety of mediums. In 1984, written my George Orwell, propaganda is used to brain wash the people of Oceania into believing that the Party, Big Brother in particular, is protecting them and constantly raising their standard of living. Today, propaganda is used more widely and loosely. It can also be called "spin". Spin is found in almost every advertisement and political regime as a way to persuade people by making them believe false ideas.
