Ghosts: Fact or Fiction?
Something that I have been interested in learning more about has been ghosts and if they are real. I remember watching all these shows and movies about ghosts and paranormal activity but I never thought it was real. Lately, the issue has caught my eye again. I know that many people feel that they do exist and some people have actually come in contact with them (from what they say). From what I have heard, ghost do exist. For example, my friend told me she can hear ghosts and she can feel when a ghost is present. Now that's just what I've heard, it may or may not be true.
One thing that I know for sure about ghosts is that they are the soul or spirit of a dead human or animal. The visual description is said to vary in shapes and sizes but is almost always transparent/clear. Some people try to communicate with the dead, which is known as as séance. Now, I've studied my share of ghosts, and I’m not sure whether or not they really do exist because I haven’t encountered a situation with a ghost or spirit but I lean more on the side of them existing. Personally, It's funny to me how people can be skeptical about it if they’ve never experienced it before for themselves.
Ghosts wasn’t a really important topic in the past because I didn’t know much about it and I wasn’t interested in learning about it. It was just something cool to hear about. But then I started wondering if they are real. I saw a lot of documentaries of people whose house was haunted by ghosts and spirit and that’s what caught my attention.
Being that I didn't have a lot of background information on ghosts, I chose to do some research on the topic. As I searched for blogs and news articles on Google, I came across this one article: “Are Ghosts Real?”, http://www.areghostsreal.org/are-ghosts-real/. This article provided a lot of information and opinions on ghosts. “Many believe that the spirit may return
in order to assist a specific individual that is living through the means of advice, warnings, or even to comfort that person. A ghost may return to the physical plane because of the fact that they may have a particular attachment to an individual, item, or even a general location. It is common for a spirit to return if they are not consciously aware of the fact that they have experienced a physical death.” The reasons as to why a ghost might stay on the Earth interested me. This is probably why some people have that “sixth sense”. I’m guessing this can only happen to people who are related to the ghost/spirit in some way.
In another article there was this one statement that made me nod my head in agreement with the writer. It was: When considered without wishful thinking, the idea of ghosts is filled with logical holes. This is so true because other than people saying what they felt or heard, there is no real solid evidence of ghosts existing. There are no videos that show a visible ghosts and no recordings of ghosts communicating clearly (at least not on record). So of course this would lead to most people being skeptical about it.
All of this makes me think that although there is a lot of leeway for ghosts to not really exist, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they don’t. I’m more of an open-minded skeptic. It’s never happened to me before so I won’t go right ahead and say they exist, but I won’t rule it out entirely; I’d try and find out if they’re real to see for myself. What do you guys think?
