Holiday potluck challenge
I decided to make this dish on my own for a holiday potluck challenge in advisory. There were some difficulties with this dish. It was a hassle to butter the potatoes and scoop out the insides, especially since the potatoes weren't too big to begin with. I ended up not being able to bring it to school because of the fact that they wouldn't exactly be very good cold. Potato skins aren't supposed to be left fully cooked out in the open for too long.
To make this dish, the baked potato skins. I had to start with bacon (cooked), cheddar cheese, butter, four potatoes, salt and pepper. I first brushed the melted butter over scrubbed potatoes. Then I baked them in an oven for an hour at about 450 degrees farenheit. After the potatoes cool, you have to cut them in half and scoop out the insides. Then stuff with the diced bacon and grated cheddar cheese with salt and pepper. Bake in the oven for two or three more minutes for the cheese to melt.
