How Obama's speech changed me...

"For us, they toiled in sweatshops and settled the west; endured the lash of the whip and plowed the hard earth."

The first time I read this quote from the Obama speech I thought it felt like I was getting a history lesson and then I realised it wasn't just a history lesson, kids my age at this time period lived like this. All of a sudden I felt like I owed it to them to do something with my life and then I realised that Obama was helping us help ourselves to reach their dreams. The kids from that time period would be proud.
