I wish my father would apologize like the father in The Curious Incident Of The Dog In the Night-Time
I think that when people apologize everything seems to turn for the better. I like the way that Christopher's father in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time apologized to him, and I wish my father would be like that. It's funny because whenever my father and I get into a fight like that (no bloodshedding), my mom usually tells me to apologize and then it feels as though I'm the bad guy.
I think The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time, by Mark Haddon was really sweet when the father did apologize to Christopher for hitting him so hard and he said that he loved him and I guess that made things better, but I think that the father shouldn't have hit him that hard to make him bleed.
A passage from pages 85 that seems important is: "The next day father said he was sorry that he had hit me and he didn't mean to." I think this is is so sweet because when people apologize to one another gives them a good feeling about everything and that's the way it's supposed to be between father and son.
Another part that I liked was: "I love you very much, Christopher. Don't ever forget that." This is an example of something important in this book. It shows compassion and fatherly love towards his only son and I think that's the way it's supposed to be in this world. Unfortunately people these days are corrupt and of course there are those people who never had that father or mother figure in the world.
This section of The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The NIght-Time reminds me of a song written by one of my favorite Screamo bands: Alesana. In "Congratulations, I hate You" talks about how much he despises the fact that the person could be happy and he can't because of who he is. I guess that this relates to what I said earlier when people sometimes don't have that father or mother figure, but I guess that they have all the right to feel that way because they are human and it wasn't their fault, so they should just chill with it cause atleast they have another parent.
What's probably going to happen next is Christopher will continue on his journey to find the killer of the dog as always because this book is so random, yet interesting at the same time.
I am looking forward to reading the rest of this book because I want to learn more about Christopher and his father's relationship =)
